Dendy Talbert TALBERT, Dendy
dendy4u@cox.net

Dendy retired in February, 2000 from Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T and Pacific Bell with 37 1/2 years total. She does volunteer work for the March of Dimes and Buick Invitational Golf Tournment. She is also a member of one of the auxilaries associated with Children's Hospital. Dendy, now divorced, has a stepdaughter who is her pride and joy.

Dendy, who has stayed in contact with many of her class mates, is a pivotal member of our Alumni Association committee and one of the people we should thank for the wonderful opportunity we have to gather together after all these years. She is organizing our 50th reunion and can be reached at the email shown above if you have questions.

An avid traveler, Dendy ventured to Europe with Sharon Moore in 1972 and back packed through the "Old World" for four months on the $5 a day plan. They stored up many treasured memories on that journey. The day she flew home from her first trip, Debbie Brask was flying over to England to live. So, of course, Dendy had to go back the following year to see Debbie! She enjoys meeting the people and the different cultures. In the 90's, Debbie (now living in San Francisco) and Dendy headed back to Europe; once to Greece and England and another time to Italy and France. Her favorite close-to-home vacation spots (well, kinda close) are Maui, where she's visited several times, enjoying snorkling, shopping and great restaurants. Her other favorite is the wine country and San Francisco; good friends, great wine and food. What more could one ask? She has plenty more plans for faraway places. Play time at home includes getting back to some serious golf, since she says she's been away from it for 6 years and, "it really shows". She is always decorating, sewing, knitting and being a "Martha girl" (Martha Stewart for those who don't know her). Dendy says she loves entertaining, "getting together with friends, having dinner parties and such. I don't know when I had time to work! Life is good and I treasure each day."

Joe Thomas THOMAS, Joseph A. “Joe”

Joe's friend, Mike Penton sends these memories of Joe in hopes that someone may know of his current whereabouts and put them in touch once again.

“Joe was the “A” student and also excelled in wrestling and gymnastics (very good on the rings) and was also on the wrestling team. Joe and I were good friends in our Junior and Senior year. Joe's Dad had been relocated from Fort Worth, TX to open General Dynamics on Kearny Mesa and was the Vice President of Manufacturing. After Joe's Dad passed away, Joe worked full time on the second shift at General Dynamics as a jig and fixture builder. Joe's Mom passed away 30 days before his Dad so he and his sister, Sandy Thomas Carpenter, who had just married (and was living in North Clairemont), had it a little tough to say the least, with the loss of both parents. Joe closed up his parents' home and he and I became roommates renting one of those duplex places off Clairemont Mesa on Frink Ave for $69.00 per month. Joe and I were both still attending CHS at this time. Joe and I were roommates until I got married in 1962. He moved to Arlington, Texas about a year later and went to College there then moved to Corpus Christi and then back to San Diego. Last time I saw Joe was around 1974.”
