Tom Wood

Tom Wood

Tom Wood was a gifted athlete and played varsity baseball and varsity football. He went through Marston Junior High, Mission Bay High and CHS with all of the Class of 1960.

Janet Fournier Lowery, CHS '61, writes to say she and Tom were married for 18 years before divorcing. He never remarried. They had two daughters, Tami Wood and Dawn Wood. Tami celebrated her 30th reunion at Clairemont High last year (2010). Tommy died in May of 1990 of kidney failure at the age of 47. He was living in Clairemont at the time. He worked for the San Diego School district for 18 years. His two sisters and brother still live in Clairemont.

I Remember:

I played Little League ball with Tom. He and Barger were born athletes.

I Remember:

Tom lived just down the street from me and I remember him as quiet, even shy, but friendly and soft spoken. It's a shame that we didn't have many more years to know him better.
